On Sunday 18 January, FAN proudly took part in the Midsumma Carnival, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our rainbow communities in a space bursting with colour, creativity and connection. Our incredible team created a vibrant, welcoming stall, which was a place of laughter and joy, filled with badge-making, pride postcards, foosball, and heartfelt conversations about what queer joy truly means to our community.
Being at Midsumma was about more than visibility. It was about showing LGBTIQA+ young people that FAN is here — not only in moments of crisis, but in moments of celebration too. It was an opportunity to share information about our homelessness, therapeutic and family violence services, reconnect with sector partners, and demonstrate that support can be affirming, inclusive and full of warmth.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day. FAN will always show up, and help create spaces where LGBTIQA+ young people are not just supported, but truly able to thrive.
