As we settle into the new year, it’s the perfect time to look back and reflect on the incredible generosity and community spirit that made last Christmas so special for the young people and families we support at FAN.
Thanks to the support of our amazing community, the festive season was filled with joy and care. Monetary donations allowed us to purchase toys and gift cards, bringing smiles to many young faces and easing financial pressure for families doing it tough.
We were incredibly grateful to receive food hampers from Melbourne Inclusive Church, filled with delicious treats and essentials, as well as thoughtful care packs from Sonia and her friends, generously packed with toiletries, snacks, socks, sunscreen and handwritten Christmas cards. Each of these gifts was more than just practical support. They were a reminder to our young people that they are seen, valued and cared for.
Our client Christmas party was another highlight of the season. Hosted with warmth and generosity by the Box Hill Lions Club, it was a wonderful opportunity for clients and their families to come together, share a meal and celebrate in a joyful, supportive environment. Seeing the laughter, games and connection at the event was a powerful reminder of the impact of community care.
We also want to acknowledge the generous financial contributions received this quarter from Box Hill Golf Club ($1,000) and Prue C ($103.50). Every donation, large or small, strengthens our ability to support young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
The festive season is always a time of both celebration and reflection. The kindness and generosity of our supporters not only made Christmas brighter but continue to reinforce the hope, stability and opportunity we aim to bring into the lives of young people in need.
